November 23, 2008Wanna Sneak a Peek at FAD?Alright Peter Wentz. You've tortured us enough, we cannot endure this emotional rollercoaster any longer. We've been caught up in the hype since CFOB this summer, ridiculously excited since you all announced it in August and wildly disappointed when were were told we had to wait until this Christmas, and then okay with it when we learned about the new presale digs and the golden tickets. Is there an end in sight?

November 17, 2008We the Kings - Secret Valentine EPWe The Kings is coming out with a new EP! From MartinSays.com: ![]() i got mine first, suckas. surprise on track 6. Gahh. I want to know. We know Secret Valentine is the upcoming single, hence the request for extras in the video, but what is this new EP about? Is it new songs? A re-release? Preview of the next album? Extra goodies to reinforce the new fan base? And more importantly, WHAT IS ON TRACK 6!?!? I'm dying with curiosity... P.S. I think the cover is absolutely adorable. Just four lovable guys on one page. =] I'll be going crazy in anticipation until December 16th, when it is released digitally (I assume via iTunes). Jeepers, that's one more set of sweet tunes to add to my Christmas list, along with Folie a Deux and When the World Comes Down.

November 13, 2008'Seventeen Forever' Video Premiere on FNMTV!
Earlier this year, the electronica/pop LA boys of Metro Station rocketed to popularity with their video for a certain catchy little song called Shake It.
The band soon followed up this buzz by crossing the country with The Bamboozle Roadshow and went on the Soundtrack of Your Summer Tour in support of Boys Like Girls. This Fall, they are headlining the Disco Balls and Blow Up Dolls Tour with special guests Tyga, The White Tie Affair and Cash Cash. Now the band is finally ready to follow up the video that sparked their initial rise to fame. With this:
When asked what you thought about the video's carnival centric theme, many were excited with approval and some were dismayed at the cameo appearance of a certain other Cyrus, but the general concensus was that you just wanted to see the new video! Well my little Metroholics, the time has come. Metro Station announced that the video for Seventeen Forever will be premiering Friday, December 5th at 8PM on FNMTV. You can bet I'll be tuning in! What about you?

November 11, 200810/30/08 - The Compromising of Integrity, Morality & Principles in Exchange for Money Tour @ The Ventura Theater
Alright, thanks to all your help teaching me about All Time Low, I felt well-prepared for what to expect as my friends (Roxanne, Becca, Miranda) and I arrived at The Ventura Theater for The Compromising of Integrity, Morality & Principles in exchange for Money Tour. The venue was decked out Halloween themed, the security guys were all wearing crazy scary make-up and masks (double the intimidation, double the fun!). We got inside and I waited in line for a coveted 'Sup Buzznet?! t-shirt, but when I got to the front, the merch guy told me they only came in guys medium (not a nice fit). A bit disappointed, but over it, I walked into the main hall with my friends as the pop punk Michigan boys Every Avenue started their set. I have to say, it was quite enjoyable. Roxanne told me she was fond of them and I was not disappointed. Their music was fun and energetic just the way I like it. They were well-received by the crowd and I think they have a pretty good following around our parts because of their stint on Warped Tour. They even played a song requested by the fans on PickRSet.com, which I thought was really cool of them. The song was called Trading Heartbeats and I highly suggest you add it to your Buzznet music player. Next up was The Maine. Surprisingly enough, I have seen them before, but it was last year at Chain Reaction in Anaheim with Metro Station and Brighten. That night, I bought The Way We Talk EP from Pat for 5 bucks because I had been so pleased by their performance. Not to mention, the impressive dance party they had with Brighten on top of their van. Needless to say, I was excited for what I anticipated they had in store for us. But the flavor was a lot different this time, they were more tame than I remember, probably a sign of growing maturity and a more refined sound for their full-length Can't Stop, Won't Stop...which I have not yet purchased, but I haven't yet decided if it's worth it. If you have it gimme a Y/N?
I was delighted when they played The Way We Talk, which was my favorite song from when I saw them last time. I was happily singing along until John O. messed up my favorite verse! I was a bit disappointed, I caught it on video. He acknowledged it with at "I fucked up the words!!!" and a laugh. It's no biggie though, can't be perfect all the time you know? All is forgiven.
Now at last I am able to understand Mayday Parade fans. They look sharp with their dressy attire, but don't let it fool you. They're chaotic on stage. These guys were all over the place! Jumping atop monitors, swinging their guitars around and not to mention Derek Sanders' mic twirling hoop-la. With the flying mics and the dual vocals, I couldn't help but think 'Taking Back Sunday goes pop!' feel free to agree or refute, I've never seen TBS live. It also might have to do with my nearsighted vision thinking that Derek kinda looks like a long-haired Lazzara from afar.
The band exploded, starting their set off with Three Cheers for Five Years (the only song I'm familiar with) but after this I've become determined to familiarize myself some more. They were all kinds of organized chaos and it was a little bit difficult for me to decide what to watch, but no matter where I looked I could definitely count on something to watch. Each member was putting on their own individual show but altogether it created a haphazard picture that kept you entertained throughout. After their set, I noticed some unread text messages, including one from BreeSays suggesting I try for a photo pass...uhhh YES PLEASE?! Stoked, I called the number she supplied me and Matt Flyzik himself came down and kindly handed one to me. (Am I allowed to mention that I think he's kinda cute?) I parted with my group of friends to squeeze into the photo pit, while they jumped into the crowd themselves to await All Time Low. I'm not gonna lie, I was excited since it was my first time in a photo pit, but as I sat down, I was intimidated by the girls already sitting in there with their big camera bags and interchangeable lenses. I looked down at my trusty little digital camera and suddenly desperately wished I had a better one just so they'd stop shooting me such dirty looks. I don't call myself a photographer, because I'm not. I have a tremendous respect for all the talent that gets showcased around here on Buzznet (even more now that I've been able to experience first hand what it takes). I just wanted to take a shot at the photo pass because I like being able to share pictures with you guys! I decided to ignore aforementioned catty photo pit girls and just enjoy myself trying to get what I could. I think I want to try taking a photo class or something so that I can get a better idea of what I'm doing and not feel so fake when trying to take photos. I started with a picture of the set list:
I pushed my little digital camera to the brink of overheating while careful to not get in the way of the serious photographers' shots. It was hard for me to focus on taking photos without shaking my booty to the beat, but I did my darnedest!
After the third song, I left the pit and retreated to a different spot in the venue to watch the magic happen. You guys all told me how cool All Time Low was live but I must've not really listened because I was SO surprised. I effing loved it!!! I see why you don't really know what ATL is like (and I don't think you can fully appreciate them) until you've seen them live. I also see why they are so popular around these parts. They approach their live show so candidly, it's pretty much like you're just hanging out with them and chilling with these guys. Then they happen to interrupt your conversation with a few songs. I've never seen it done like that before, with such a fun, easygoing atmosphere. I like it, and it works well for them. I honestly can't say much as to what was memorable about what they played, it was pretty much run of the mill and sounded exactly like their recordings (not a bad thing at all, I like their music!). But what I do distinctly remember is what went on during the breaks between songs. These guys are hysterical. Here's a little highlight rundown of their hijinks.
The lulz didn't stop there. The boys played Holly and during the chorus, Alex changed the words! Just another pretty face ...LOLWHUT?!?! Now, before you all start thinking that Gaskarth has a man crush on Joe Jonas, I should probably mention that I had decided to wear my Jonas Brothers t-shirt to the show because I thought it would be funny to get dirty looks from girls who would immediately despise me for liking All Time Low and The Jonas Brothers (it worked, and there was much amusement). So for those of you who think that these guys don't really notice things from the stage, I'm 99.8% sure this was a reference to my t-shirt. I guess he must've caught a glance while I was taking photos for some reason decided to sing about it during Holly? My friends talked to me about it afterwards, and were able to confirm that he actually said this, but if he's made this switch at one of your shows please feel free to refute me. I processed what had just happened and then proceeded to laughing my ass off. That completely sealed the deal. From that point on, it was love. Now for videos!!! I caught a video of their 'New Jizz' because Savannah (tryingtofindthewords) suggested it when I asked her about All Time Low (the lady has seen them so many times! and she gets amazing photos of them too, no less): For a split second I thought it kinda sounded like Perfect by Simple Plan, but of course it doesn't really sound like the song. For what it's worth, I like it. I'm always excited to hear new stuff, it's part of the excitement of getting to see them on tour. Lastly, I caught video of the last bits of insanity during Dear Maria, Count Me In. The end is quite a treat, Jack picks up Alex and threatens to throw him into the crowd: After the show, Jack and Alex retreated to a room on the second floor of the theater and waved to those of us who were outside from a window, waiting out the crowd that would have engulfed them once they left the venue.
Apparently their dick-centric humor had already rubbed off on me. It was a school night, so we had to leave so we could get home on time to avoid punishment, but we did manage to run into Zack Merrick on our way out. I asked him to sign my bag and do a little real life buzzmobbing for me:
On the drive home, we rocked out to our music on the freeway with our windows rolled down. All in all, a perfect night... OH! And in case you're interested, the rest of my Money Tour pictures are here.

November 10, 2008Don't wake me, I plan on sleeping in.
Stayed home sick today. The alarm went off this morning and even as much as I willed myself out of bed and my mom threatened me to get up, my body fought to stay immobile. Body won. When I got out of bed I was in one of those out of bed but still asleep sort of states. I relocated myself wrapped in a blanket to the recliner in the living room where I watched MSNBC with my grandma as we waited for the Obamas to arrive at The White House.
I'm in such an inexplicable funk. I feel so incredibly out of whack right now, my head hurts, my back aches, and I feel really weak. I would eat but the thought of food is making me cringe. I feel like everything is going in slow motion. My Mom and Dad say it's lack of sleep but if anything, I've been getting more sleep than usual. Mehhh. The Postal Service soundtrack probably isn't helping, but it fits my mood and I wouldn't want to punish myself by listening to We the Kings or something else that would get me too excited. I wonder if a slug ever wishes it could go faster. If so, I think I know how it would feel. I would crawl back into bed but I don't think the sleep would help make me feel more energized. Plus I need to do college app stuff so that my mom will feel some sort of consellation for letting me stay home today. I dislike filling out college apps, they make me think about how I've done in the past and how that could affect my future. My Seattle U early action deadline is this Saturday...eeeeep. It's also incredibly frustrating that I can't get on the internet from my laptop (I'm using the house computer right now). It's seriously affecting my ability to get any work done (though it hasn't inhibited my ability to blog about this...lol). It's a good thing I don't have rehearsal today. Hopefully I'll feel better tomorrow.

November 5, 2008The All-American Rejects Give You Hell!Hey, anyone remember these guys??? ![]() It's been three years since their last release (Move Along in 2005), but The All-American Rejects are back and busier than ever in 2008 hyping up their upcoming album When The World Comes Down (out December 16, anyone want to send me a Christmas present? ^_^) Since they got out of the studio, they've played a couple new songs during sporadic shows (Mona Lisa and I Wanna Touch You), created a dish for Denny's Rock Star Menu (that is SO GOOD) and most recently, released their single Gives You Hell this September. And now, there is a new music video for the single that e-premiered today! In it, front man Tyson Ritter pits a war against a hoity-toity neighbor who bears a striking resemblence to himself! Click below to peep it on YouTube ![]() Double your Tyson
What about the release date? Are these Rejects going to be able to compete with those Boys?: ![]() Llllllet's get rrrready to rrrrumble! Though I'm a bigger AAR fan, my logic says that FOB is going to out sell AAR, but it isn't really a competition is it? In the end, it's their label that wins!Personally, I've been waiting three years for this and couldn't be happier. I saw them perform at Bamboozle Left last April and they were the same amazing as I remember. Pretty much beyond excited for this new album, which is available for preorder now! While you're at it, you should add The Rejects to your Buzznet players now!

November 2, 200810/18/08 - Bill & Trav's Bogus Journey (HOB Anaheim; We the Kings and The Academy Is...)I know, I know! It was like five years ago. Really sorry for the delay on this one!!! It took a little bit longer since I wanted to be thorough in my rundown, and then The Money Tour recap and photos and stuff happened, and this got put on the backburner. But its done now and here it is! Enjoy! TAI TV: Bill & Travs Bogus Journey Part One{DISCLAIMER: There may be some missing apostrophes. When I edit entries after theyre posted, Buzznet likes to get rid of them. So sue me for being too lazy to go through and reread the whole entry to put them back in. I got as much as my Mozilla spell check called me out on.} Heather, Janaye and I left earrrrly early (11AM) to be sure that they would not miss the M&G (3:20) this time (doors @ 4:30, one of the earliest door times ever). We planned on meeting up there with other party party members Cruz (boy) and Raven (girl). Cruz was SLH, Raven was not, so she was going to be my buddy even though she wouldnt show up until after doors opened. On the car ride to Anaheim, Heather, Janaye and I prepared a gift for Jack the Camera Guy. Immediately after Wednesday we agreed that he deserved a Thank You from us (from me especially). Our gift composed of a teddy bear, TAI TV logo t-shirt & Jack glasses for Teddy Jack, a big thank you card and a disposable camera (with a couple pictures taken on it *scandalous* haha jk.) attached to Teddy Jack with hair ties. ![]() T shirt for Teddy Jack. Aint it cute?! Heathers dad was at the helm again and got us to Downtown Disney in a timely manner. We arrived at about 1, which was about 2 hours before we needed to be there. We really werent taking chances on missing the meet and greet. Upon arrival, I drank in the familiar sight for sore eyes. Disneyland is like a second home to me and I hadnt been since the summer. There was such excitement in the air and energy in our strut, you could tell we were euphoric in our anticipation: Heather: Were in the Happiest Place on Earth! =]I dialed my mom to tell her that we arrived in one piece with no trouble at all as she picked up and said "Hello" I got jabbed in the shoulder by Janaye, "Ow!" I jolted, "What the..." I didnt finish my sentence. "Hello?...Hello?" I could hear my mom over the phone, but I couldnt respond. As I looked up from my phone, none other than Danny Duncan from We the Kings was walking towards me...and now past me. I was so shocked by his appearance, I mean, I JUST walked into the area, I couldnt possibly already be seeing one of the guys already! It was like the powers that be virtually drag-and-dropped him in front of me, like in The Sims. (On top of my shock it was one fourth of We the Kings. I had been so bummed since I had missed Tourzilla and RRRGL, didnt run into them at Bamboozle Left, and at Warped Tour, there wasnt a signing and they werent walking around. This was the first time that I absolutely loved the band before really getting to meet any them.) Janaye glared at me and I could hear her telling me off in my head: "I am not the We the Kings fan here. I do not know his name. I want to meet him, and I know you do too. More than anyone. He is walking really fast, so you better SAY SOMETHING before you miss your chance. I am not going to comfort you if you end up crying because you didnt jump on that. So SPEAK NOW!"As I recovered from my shock, the names of all the members jumbled around in my mind as I frantically racked my brain for his. I couldnt believe that I had forgotten all of their names in the split second that I was caught off guard. Oh wait...GOT IT! "DAN! DanDan!!!" I yelled after him, but he kept walking. Oh no, was it too late? Am I going to have to perpetually *headdesk* for the rest of my life? Janaye joined in the summons with me and at that, Speedy Danzalez stopped walking in the middle of the crowd. He whipped his head around, his brown hair following behind him (so cute!) He made eye contact with me and I raised my hand with an excited "Hey!" wave. He grinned and strolled over to us as we walked towards him and met in the middle. He greeted the three of us and we made small talk. I told him I liked his shirt (GK Piggy!) and he complemented me on mine. "I kinda want it," he looked at my Lego smiley tee and, with an awkward-but-not-creepy expression, followed up with, "I would take it from you." I laughed and told him he could have it, jokingly reaching for the bottom of the shirt as if I was going to take it off. He chuckled and thanked me but I could keep it. xD I told him that I was stoked for the show and he asked the three of us, "So you guys are pretty big fans?" Janaye and Heather immediately pointed at me and said, "She loves you guys." Usually in these situations, I try to hide the fact that I absolutely adore them, as I find it helps along initial conversation, but so much for that. I imagine that I blushed a bit because because DanDan cracked a smile and said "Come ere!!" as he opened his arms invited me for a hug. What a cool guy. "I think theres a camera in here somewhere..." Janaye reached into Ravens bag (Raven was coming from a softball game so we brought clothes for her) and pulled out Ravens digital camera. I turned to Danny and asked for a photo op. He obliged gladly and put an arm around me. I grinned, like an idiot: ![]() ZOMG DANNY DANNY DANNY! {/fangirl} Then Janaye and I switched, and I asked if Heather wanted in. She said she was okay, but Dan said "Awww get over here" and pulled her in. At the sight of the camera, I noticed a sporadic group of girls gravitating towards us. Like bees to honey (...or flies to poop), waiting for us to get done so they could jump on the photo op. Drew Thomsen (WTK bassist) walked by leisurely and I waved, he smiled politely and mouthed the word hi, but kept walking. Dan called after him, but he just kept going. We respected his choice to walk by, some guys just dont embrace their "fame" as much as others do. The way I see it, he could have been a bigger jerk about it but he wasnt, and I dig that. (Side note: He walked around Downtown for quite awhile but the dude was so low key that I saw a bunch of girls with We The Kings t-shirts on walk riiight past him without a second glance) We told Danny that if he had to leave, we would get out of his hair, but he said "Nah, I just had to tell Drew something, but Ill get him later. I could chill all day." So charming, and the sense of humor on Kings Carriage definitely translates, you can tell from just talking to him. I definitely could have chilled all day as well, but we had to hop in line so we got hugs and left him to fend for himself against other WTK fans. -- Fast forward: Cruz showed up, Jack got the gifts and was way surprised, I made some new friends in line -- ![]() The doors opened, I got wanded, frisked, received my wristband, and I texted Raven. She told me she was close but not quite there, and said she would text me when she showed up. I took the opportunity to walk around (thank gosh for service in the HOB Anaheim) and went for a potty break. I waltzed into the bathroom, went in the stall, took care of my business, and as I emerged from the stall, there was Cassadee from Hey Monday doing her hair! I laughed, "What are you doing back here?!" She told me there wasnt a bathroom backstage so she had to take care of all the girly stuff out here. "Thats whack!" I joked, "Girls in bands need backstage bathrooms! How sexist!" She laughed. As she straightened her hair and I washed my hands we had a genuine girl talk conversation. I asked her how the tour was, she told me it was a blast. I replied: "I bet. One girl on a tour of all guys! Hows touring with William and The Academy Is...?" We giggled and gushed about The Beckett and she said: "You think Id be used to [being around him] by now but...Im so not" Jeepers. Theres that Beckett Effect again. Yeah, we had a total moment there. I told her how much I enjoyed Wednesday, and she got excited and told me to try to get up in the front for their set (didnt happen, Im so little! But that would have been cool, it sounded like she had something planned for me). Haha. She finished up, packed up her stuff, I dried my hands and told her to break a leg (yeahh Im a theater kid). She said thank you, smiled cutely and bounced out of the bathroom. Shortly after, Raven showed up, and shortly after that the show began. Raven and I decided to try to work up to where Heather and Janaye were, so we partied in the back during Hey Monday (No Beckett guest appearance this time!), and then when people began to push up for Carolina Liar we jumped into the pit. We worked our way up during each push, and finally got to Cruz, Janaye and Heather who were close thanks to SLH Early Entry. But jumping around and pushing tired me out, and I just wasnt in the mood for another squish. I could tell the crowd was going to be squishier and worse than LA, and I was not about to get pushed around during the crazy bouncy We the Kings set. I found one of the girls that I met in line, she was against the wall in the back so I joined her and we talked while we waited for We the Kings to start up. She had never seen them and had only heard a little bit before, so I shared with her my personal love of the band and prepped her for the amazingness she was about to witness. Ahh...We the Kings. I always seem to forget just how much I really love them until I hear them again. I was actually happy to watch from the back, that way I get to drink in the whole show. Besides, Ive already done the We the Kings from the pit (SO MUCH FUN, but only if you really like the music) and I really do enjoy a show from all angles. I wanted to get a new perspective on it, plus it makes for better reviewing. You know me, always thinking about you guys. ![]()
As Stay Young rung out its final chord, the Kings kept the energy level up by immediately swinging into The Quiet. Blissfully happy, I reveled in the melody of my favorite WTK song. Its really impossible for me to be sad for the 3 minute duration of any unapologetically pop We the Kings song and since I was already happy, I bounced Super Mario style up to Cloud 9. As the bridge section rolled around, I danced and rocked out just like many a session in my room. As the song came to an end, I felt so comfortable, like this was home. The happiest place on earth, indeed. Travis then requested us to sing along to the next song. "A really easy one," he said, "All you have to sing is Whoa-oh Whoa-oh-oh-oh." =] After The Kings karaoke ended, Travis took the pause time to introduce themselves and their next song, "You guys are already bouncing but we wanna see if we can get you guys to bounce some more." He commanded the crowd to shake their booties as a familiar driving bass line began. Feel Good Inc. by The Gorillaz, We the Kings style. The place suddenly went from a bounce house to a freak dance party and I laughed at the sight as I sang along. Hunter donned a backwards Bay Rays baseball cap and actually did the rap section. Even though Id seen it done before, it did not cease to amuse me. As that song ended, the fun didnt stop. The irresistible intro to Skyway Avenue started up and everyone cheered in excitement. Music moves people, man. "Everybody jump!" Travis called out before the chorus, but he really didnt have to. If you jump I will jump too is right. The pit was already in a frenzy, limbs moving up and down like waves of the ocean in unison to the Skyway beat. The song reached its climax and after it was done, you could tell that no one in the entire place wanted it to end. The band took a little break to talk to us and asked us to give it up for The Academy Is... Im pretty sure I lost partial hearing solely because of that moment because the screaming was ear shattering and head splitting. Then Travis pounded on his fretboard and made random dissonant noise announcing, "That was my guitar hero solo!" I cracked up so hard. They introduced their next song as one they love to play but dont get to so often because of time (granted this is their first headliner even if its just a co-headline). The powerful opening of August is Over began blasting through the amps and I just smiled to myself because I know the song is trufax about their summer love affairs in high school. Thats why its so special to them. The next song was All Again For You, dedicated to We the Fans! I love the harmonies and the lyrics to the chorus of that song. Cant help but smile. As the chorus line repeated at the end, each member of the band left the stage. A few moments later, Traviss red keyboard was set up on stage and he launched into the hometown-nostalgic This is Our Town. It was a good change of pace and when the song picked up, the rest of the band came back out on stage for the power section of the ballad. Everyone sang along and I was happy to be a part of something like that. The after effects of This is Our Town lingered and Travis picked his guitar up again announcing the next song as "Probably the sexiest song weve ever written, were gonna sing it a little differently this time so just bear with us. Let us know if you like it." Secret Valentine started up a capella and they began playing after the first chorus. Towards the end, Hunter and Travis began singing in around pretty much exactly like the recording. It was so flipping cute, and then when Travis sang Well write a song that turns out the lights he signaled to the sound and lights tech to bring the house lights down. It was absolutely adorable and a pleasant surprise. I melted inside with a love for the music. When the song finished, Travis brought their tour manager and best friend T-Fair (see Kings Carriage: Are We Hazing?) out on stage and had us all sing happy birthday to him! It was so sweet. The band launched into Check Yes Juliet and the crowd got ten times more hyped than I have ever seen a We the Kings crowd before. At the end of the song, Travis tossed his guitar off stage and jumped into the photo pit at the mercy of the crowd. He jumped back up top to finish the song, thanked us all and the Bradenton boys left the stage to an uproar. Yeah its official, I really do love those guys. Then after a short break, it was time for The Academy Is... ![]() Their set list went like this:
As Summer Hair = Forever Young started up, the standards were high for the follow up to the performance that made me a fan on Wednesday. Watching from the back gave me a wonderful view of the entire stage and therefore, the entire show. TAIs stage performance is both well coordinated and excitingly spontaneous. There is a general awareness of between each of the guys, creating a perfect balance of high energy that doesnt overwhelm the audience. If Sisky moves down stage, Chizzy moves up. If William runs back to chill with The Butcher, thats Sisky, Chizzy and Mikes cue to move up and draw the attention of the crowd. If Williams doing a mic trick, the rest of the guys pull it back a bit. Whether its subconscious or not, it tells me that these guys are total pros. During Slow Down, the crowd did the complete opposite. (Okay okay, bad pun. It wont happen again, I promise.) I realized exactly how hyped the packed house was. Everyone in the entire place was jumping up and down at the mercy of the chorus. Let me tell you, for someone as tiny as me, it looked brutal. I know some kids definitely enjoy it and thats where they want to be, but honestly, I was really glad I wasnt in there. I happily bounced around my personal party pit in the back though, because that song is bundles of fun. After that, the guys immediately launched into Neighbors and then The Phrase That Pays, which is a song that Im always happy to hear. (Aside: When the video for The Phrase That Pays first joined the rotation on FUSE, that was when and how The Academy Is... was first brought to my attention) William requested everybody get their hands up for Weve Got A Big Mess on Our Hands and the crowd cheered like crazy. Although, they didnt go as crazy during the song. Ive found that song to have a bit more of a mellow/taming effect on an audience, its almost like they get hypnotized by The Butchers steady beat. Next was Rumored Nights, which is my favorite song off of Fast Times and the reason why I fell in love with The Beckett Chest Pound. Playing this one after the four songs off the first two albums, I heard a real distinct contrast between them. Songs off Almost Here and Santi are more similar to each other, while Fast Times songs are a lot more overall optimistic and upbeat. It probably also counts for something that Fast Times is the first time Michael Guy Chislett really contributed completely to the creative process. Then they played Checkmarks where Sisky Biz the Bass Whiz went into a glorious bass solo as William heralded him, "SISKY fucking BUSINESS!!!" As that song ended, William commanded everyone to sing along louder than the person next to them for the next song. The audience happily obliged for Attention Attention. It got hella loud. I wouldnt be surprised if we woke up a few sleeping Disney characters. Things slowed down a bit as we transitioned into Everything We Had. I could sense the power of that song, as there were many a TAI fan around me getting a little bit emotional. I think that says a lot about the song. The slow pace continued as William announced that the next song was called The Test. This was a curve ball, because I was aware that this was the song that he played acoustic for us on Wednesday...curious. Maybe its the fact that I heard it acoustic first, but I must say I like the acoustic version better. Older fans were delighted to hear the next song, as William opened his mouth to the melodic words "My life reads like the Classifieds..." I must say I was delighted as well, since it is one of the few that I had known on my own and from what Janaye told me, they didnt really ever play it the previous umpteenth times they had seen them. Then it was that one song About a Girl. (The irony of those lyrics never fail to entertain me. Silly Billy, you are wasting your words about a girl!!) Anyways, The Beckett threw up numerous halves of hearts with his free hand while Im sure many a fangirl felt like it was to her. I have to say sorry to the TAI boys, I didnt watch them so much during this one because their show did not compare to the show put on by the row of MOMS dancing up on the bar! No joke. Of course Travis jumped out during this song and at that point I was really glad that I wasnt in there. I got a sad little video from my phone though!: To tame the insanity, they brought out the acoustic guitar. William did a little preface before he played. He did a little talk about the economy and thanked us for spending our money to see them. He continued, "This is the first time Ive ever played this one live so I might fuck it up. This song is called Automatic Eyes." Profanity never sounded cuter. : The rest of the boys came out for After the Last Midtown Show, and then the inevitable occurred. To the crowds dismay, William announced it the last song. The boys of The Academy Is... bid us farewell to a satisfying rendition of Almost Here. So my Bogus Journey comes to an end. Im glad it happened but Im sad I wont ever get to experience it again. However, Bill and Trav are still on their Bogus Journey across the country! So if youre at all on the fence about going to this I urge you to DO WHATEVER YOU CAN TO GO. Its... ![]() MOST EXCELLENT! Guaranteed. Related Groups:
